Funky Vision
In 2000, the Anna Wearne
Trust was approached by a young woman who wanted to produce her play at the
Melbourne Fringe Festival. Funky Vision, a play which she wrote and
eventually directed, was the first step towards Leah achieving her
childhood dream of starting her own theatre company.
After four years of drug
abuse, Leah had hit 'rock bottom' and found herself in rehab. Leah
describes in her words that "When life led me to a point where the
only way was up, I decided to focus on the highest rung of that ladder and
never lose sight of it again". Leah then enrolled in a performing arts
course at university and some time later approached the Anna Wearne Trust
for support. Now Leah's motto is "live your dreams today this is not a
rehearsal".
The Anna Wearne Trust
wishes Leah all the best for her future productions. Keep climbing that
ladder darlin'.
