The Anna Wearne Trust is
a special Trust for many reasons.
The Trust was set up in
the spirit of Anna Wearne, a woman of action who was compelled by a
powerful sense of purpose. Anna had wonderful insight and vision, and
looked out into the world and saw things she wanted to change. Anna was
determined to work to make a difference and she inspired others to believe
they could too.
The Anna Wearne Trust
directs its energy at creating opportunities for young people to reach
their potential when that potential is hampered due to disadvantage or
inequality. The Trust recognises that young people face many barriers in
life today, some are marginalised and it can be hard for so many reasons.
It seeks to recognise and address some of those barriers through
interactive and dynamic philanthropy.
The Anna Wearne Trust
values the importance of education and any kind of empowering learning. It
takes a broad and imaginative approach to charitable giving. It provides
young people with non-financial support as well as monetary assistance, and
believes in continuing relationships with those it has supported. The Anna
Wearne Trust is run by young people who are in touch with the individuals
and communities they support and work with. The Anna Wearne Trust is about
helping young people to grow and contribute to the community around them.
