Anna Wearne Trust Applications

Information for Applicants

Our Structure

The Anna Wearne Trust operates in two different ways:

·   It makes grants of up to $500 to recipients

·   It makes recommendations to the Melbourne Community Foundation (MCF) about the making of grants from the Anna Wearne Fund, a sub-fund of the MCF. These grants are generally up to $1000 and are made to recipients via charitable entities endorsed as deductible gift recipients (DGRs). All grants made from the Anna Wearne Fund are subject to review and approval by the trustees of the MCF. We thank the MCF for its ongoing support.

Who is eligible for grants?

Applications for funds are invited from individuals or from community organisations.

Community organisations should note, however, that it may be easier to meet the Trust’s aim and objectives if applications for funds focus on, or are made on behalf of, an individual who will directly benefit from those funds if granted.

The aim of the Anna Wearne Trust is to create opportunities for young people to reach their potential, where such potential is hampered due to disadvantage or inequality.  In keeping with this aim, priority is generally given to applications for funds, which will be used to assist persons 30 years of age and under.

What will be funded?
Grants are provided for projects and activities, which are consistent with the aim and objectives of the Anna Wearne Trust. Grants will not be provided for general fundraising, religious groups or political groups.

Information required from applicants
To assist applicants and to assist Trustees, an application form is provided. It is not intended to be very formal- don't "stress out"- we just want to understand about your project. Please include a copy of any material, which may be helpful to the Board when considering the application.

Timeframes
The Trust endeavours to respond to all applications for funds within three months of receiving them. Applicants should take this timeframe into account when applying for funds.

Requirements of successful applicants
The Trustees request that a report be forwarded to the Trust on the completion of the activity or project. The report need not be very formal. It may be included in the Anna Wearne Trust's newsletter, Cork Your Hole and on this website.

Grants available
The Anna Wearne Trust currently offers grants from $50 to $1000.
